High Frequency Words
Throughout the year we will be working on developing a sight-word reading vocabulary of high frequency words. These are words which your child will see most often in his/her reading and writing. When students recognize these words easily, they are able to apply the same learning strategies to decode unfamiliar, new words. By the end of the school year the students should be able to read all of the Grade One high frequency sight words. Please practice them together. (e.g. make flashcards, play word games etc...)
